Paolo Sanesi purchased the farm and its country houses when the Chianti area was experiencing a grievous state of abandonment, likewise the typical cultivation of vineyards and olive groves of the area. Moved by the desire to recreate the spirit of an ancient Tuscan farm in his estate, with its traditional fruit trees, olive groves and vineyards, Paolo passionately dedicated himself over the years in the restoration of the buildings, the renewal of the olive groves, the enlargement of the vineyards and the addition of new plants.

Today, the estate stretches over a surface of 58 hectares at 300 meters above sea level with south-west exposure.Twelve hectares of the estate are cultivated with vineyards, twelve hectares accommodate olive groves that yield extra virgin olive oil, while the remaining hectares are devoted to cereal cultivations, large trees and coppice woodlands.

Traditional grape varieties from this Chianti area are cultivated, i.e.
Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Trebbiano and Malvasia. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah vines were also recently planted.

The soil is loamy and clayey, moderately rich in layered rocks of sedimentary origin.

Over the years, seven apartments and a swimming pool have been carved out of the country dwellings of the estate, which are part of the Al Gelso Bianco farm holiday resort, www.algelsobianco.it

Stefania and Irene, mothers and daughter, have been running the winery and the holiday resort from the 2005.
